About THN
A community that heals together, stays whole together.
“The Trauma Healing Network was launched in September 2012 as a Bible Engagement Project of the Bible Society of Namibia to empower a community to handle its own wounds, and to form a mutual support base across the country.”
Who Are We
The Trauma Healing Network was launched in September 2012 as a Bible Engagement Project of the Bible Society of Namibia to empower the community. We focus on traumatized people (both adults and children), with the aim of bringing healing and equipping them with skills and knowledge to deal with trauma more effectively. We have a team of facilitators all over Namibia and even across our borders in the SADC region.
Why Do We Exist?
People in Namibia often do not receive effective help because support services are neither readily available nor affordable to everyone. The most important goal of the Trauma Healing Network is to cultivate a community that is not only able to handle its own trauma effectively, but can also form a mutual support base.
What is Our Dream?
Our dream is to have well-trained facilitators all over Namibia, equipping communities with trauma healing and the skills to handle life’s challenges from a Biblical perspective.
Faces of the Network.
The work of trauma healing is human work. Behind every retreat, camp and counselling session is someone who chose to be trained to sit with pain so others don’t have to sit alone.
Dr Schalk Botha founded THN in 2012. Holds national vision for trauma healing as Bible engagement across Namibia.

The THN Method
Our program is simple. We bring groups of people together in a safe space where a facilitator can help them move towards healing. It is a holistic and Bible-based program to help people understand that trauma affects every part of their existence: mind, body, and spirit. During the lessons, we use art, stories, activities, and questions to help people engage with themselves, the Lord, the Bible, and others.
Our Materials
Our materials are based on the Colour-Me-Healed concept, which features a set of practical lessons that lead people on a journey of healing. The Bible plays a core role in our process, where we use different colours to help individuals move forward.

Holistic
Trauma affects mind, body and spirit so does the healing. Art, story, activity, question. We treat the whole person.
Community-led
We don’t fly in and out. We train facilitators who stay building a network where healing becomes part of how a community cares for itself.
Bible-based
The Bible plays a core role not as theory, but as a living companion. We help people engage with the Lord, the Word and themselves.
